2015 Ford Edge vs. 2015 Honda Odyssey

Is the 2015 Ford Edge Right for Eastern Kentucky, Southern Ohio, and West Virginia Drivers?

Ford would have you believe that the 2015 Edge is ushering in an era of the crossover as a family vehicle, but is it the right choice for Eastern Kentucky, Southern Ohio, and West Virginia drivers? The minivan is still a strong option for many of our area families, and while the Edge does have 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space and seating for up to five, its features are still a bit limited. The entry-level model comes with a touchscreen display but still requires upgrades for Ford Sync and MyFord Touch to give it competitive features. The Edge isn’t a bad vehicle, but as a replacement for a modern minivan, it comes up short on space and features.

We think most of our drivers with full-size families would do better with a minivan like the 2015 Honda Odyssey, which has room for up to eight and provides up to 148.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Standard features on the Odyssey LX dwarf those on the Edge as well. Each Odyssey comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (the Honda i-MID), Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Pandora internet radio, SMS texting, a rearview camera, and more without requiring any upgrades. If you do upgrade, Honda has plenty of excellent features to choose from, however, like the Odyssey Touring Elite’s HondaVac vacuum cleaner (designed with vacuum experts at ShopVac) to clean up messes before they mar your minivan.
