The 2019 Honda Insight has made its debut to anticipation and praise. Now in its third generation, the 2019 Honda Insight is an electric vehicle that joins the family of Honda hybrid models including the Honda Accord Hybrid and Clarity, to bring incredible efficiency to the road. The Insight will also come well-equipped with features that bolster comfort, convenience, and luxury.

The Insight is powered by a 1.5L Atkinson Cycle engine that works with an electric motor and lithium ion-battery. The Insight will ordinarily operate entirely on electric power, using the engine as a generator. But the Insight distinguishes itself from some other electric vehicles by housing the batteries underneath the rear seats, freeing up valuable cargo space in the trunk area.

Fuel Economy

The EPA has not yet released fuel economy estimates for the Insight, but Honda expects that the Insight will achieve extremely competitive numbers compared to other electric vehicles. Only a few years ago, most electric cars hovered just above 40 mpg. Now with innovations and advancements, electric vehicles typically earn up to 50 mpg, ensuring money-saving numbers for years to come.

Comfort and Technology

The Insight doesn’t rest on its laurels with impressive fuel economy. It also will come fully equipped with features that provide comfort, convenience, entertainment, and ways to stay safely connected when behind the wheel. The Insight will feature:

  • Perforated leather seating
  • 8-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • 7-inch LCD instrument cluster display
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
2019 Honda Insight Grill
2019 Honda Insight Dash

Honda Sensing

Honda Sensing, a suite of driver-assistance technology, will also be available on the Insight. The package helps drivers drive better and smarter, keeping everyone on the road safer.

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
  • Lane Keeping Assist System
